Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 31.
KC Chamber President and CEO Joe Reardon proved he is a man of his word.
After the Chiefs’ heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game, Reardon wore a Patriots sweatshirt – complete with Bill Belichick-style “tailoring” – to the January 28 Chamber Board meeting.
Reardon and his counterpart, Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce President James Rooney, made a friendly wager on the outcome of the game. If the Chiefs had won, Reardon would be enjoying some New England lobster courtesy of the Boston Chamber while Rooney wore an official Patrick Mahomes headband (complete with hair) to his own Chamber Board meeting. Instead, Rooney is dining on KC Strip while Reardon eats some humble pie in a not-so-stylish hooded sweatshirt.
Here’s looking forward to next season. Go Chiefs!
