Graduates earn 111 degrees from the Kansas City Art Institute


About 83.8 percent of the 111 degrees and certificates handed out by the Kansas City Art Institute in 2017-18 were to students in visual and performing arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in City conferred 93 bachelor's degrees in visual and performing arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in illustration. Data shows the school gave out 25 bachelor's degrees in illustration, followed by 21 bachelor's degrees in painting and 16 bachelor's degrees in animation, interactive technology, video graphics and special effects.

The institute enrolled 663 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
