Buffalo ranked 105th in Missouri for the percentage of households receiving food stamps in 2017, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

365 of 1,110 Buffalo households (32.9 percent) received food stamps. Buffalo's population reached 3,026 people in 2017.

The city with the largest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state was Hunter, which had 19 of 23 households receiving food stamps, 49.7 percent more than Buffalo. In 2017 the population of Hunter was 57.

The city with the lowest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state was Weldon Spring, which had 5 of 2,247 households receiving food stamps, 32.7 percent less than Buffalo. In 2017 the population of Weldon Spring was 5,534.
