2.3 percent of the University of Missouri-Columbia students played sports on university teams in 2017-2018


In 2017-2018, 2.3 percent of the University of Missouri-Columbia students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

The University of Missouri-Columbia has 22,484 undergraduate students, of which 52 percent are women and 48 percent are men, and a total student body of 29,843 students. Of these students, 359 men and 328 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 8.7 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at the University of Missouri-Columbia with the most participants are all track combined (252), football (119) and swimming and diving (76).
